Canada has three classes of business immigrants, each with separate eligibility criteria: investors, entrepreneurs and self-employed persons.
Investor:
As an investor you need to have at least $1,600,000 CND net assets and willing to deposit $800,000 CND without interest with Canadian government for five years or alternatively have an authorized bank deposit this amount for you against an interest amount of approx $220,000.
You can be either a senior manager with an at least 5 employees under you or as a business person actively involved in a qualifying business with proper financial statements and payment of respective taxes and insurance premiums in two years within five years prior to your application date. In the case of Quebec this period is three years.

Entrepreneur:
As an Entrepreneur you need to have at least $300,000 CND net asset and willing to commit managing at least a third of a business in Canada that meets certain requirements to be examined in one year within three years of your landing in Canada. You also need to have a similar experience in two years within five years prior to your application date.

Self-employed:
As a self employed person you need to have at least two years experience in cultural or athletics in a world renowned manner and can make a significant contribution to cultural or athletics life in Canada or you have been managing a farm and now can purchase a farm in Canada to qualify under this program.
